Two ways to remove your Sortie account and the personal data tied to it.
Sortie accounts are anonymous and device-bound by default — there is no username or password. If you never linked an email, your account exists only on the device where you installed the app, so the in-app path below is the direct way to delete it. If you linked an email (via the magic-link sign-in), you can also request deletion by email.
Deletion is immediate. You are signed out and returned to the start screen once it completes.
If you can no longer open the app, email maintain@sortie.work with the subject “Account deletion request”. Send it from the email address you linked to your Sortie account so we can verify the request; we then delete the account for you and confirm by reply.
Note: if you never linked an email, we cannot match an anonymous device account from a message alone — please use the in-app path above instead.
Either path removes the personal data associated with your account:
Messages you posted in group chats are anonymised, not hard-deleted: the text stays visible to the people who were already in the chat, but it is no longer linked to you. This keeps other participants' conversations intact while removing your identity.
If you have an active Sortie Pro subscription, it is cancelled immediately as part of the deletion. There is no partial refund for the remaining period. The in-app flow states this before you confirm.
